In order to keep pace with a growing community in need of additional municipal services, the Township of Livingston began the process that will result in additional space for the administrative, court and police departments in the township. Currently, the Township is operating from two separate facilities, one for the police department and one for the administrative and court functions

The original concept, pictured above, involved The Gibson Tarquini Group demolishing the existing police headquarters and replacing it with a larger, modernized facility that incorporated the courtroom. A breezeway would connect the new Police Headquarters with a modernized, renovated Town Hall that would house only the administrative function of the Town.

The court, which is in the current Town Hall, would be moved to the new police headquarters, and the existing courtroom would be used exclusively for Township Council meetings.

After the programming and analysis phase, in which The Gibson Tarquini Group offered several options after multiple site evaluations, Township officials decided to demolish and redesign both the Town Hall and Police Headquarters, replacing the two structures with one complete municipal services complex. This concept allows all functions to operate in a seamless environment, allows for upgraded, integrated technology capabilities and for the type of modern facility that the Township residents deserve. The architectural design will blend aesthetically with the surrounding structures.
