Timber Creek High School Client: Project:
Construction Cost: Completion Date: The School District was in need of additional facilities to meet increasing enrollments. Initial studies were made of the feasibility of expanding the two existing high schools, Triton Regional in Runnemede and Highland Regional in Blackwood. Neither site was appropriate for the proposed 1,400 student school or an appropriate addition. Review of the educational specifications and the program indicated that a minimum site of 40 acres would be required for a new high school. A site search was made and ultimately a site was selected near a community park in the Erial section of Gloucester Township. Simultaneous with this program, a comprehensive Technology Improvement Program is under design for the two existing high schools. The new school was bid under budget. It opened for the 2001-2002 school year in September 2001 . The new facility has all of the traditional high school features, plus state of the art technology and science labs, television studio facilities, outstanding athletic facilities, energy efficient boilers, HVAC equipment, windows and doors. Security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the students at the new High School.
