The Gibson Tarquini Group, a Professional Corporation of Architects, Planners and Interior Designers, traces its origin back to a small architectural practice founded in 1947 by Dante J. D'Anastasio in Pennsauken, New Jersey, to meet the growing demands of an expanding economy after World War II. Dante J. D'Anastasio and Associates later moved to 1815 Federal Street in Camden, New Jersey, and after outgrowing that location in 1974, moved to a larger facility across the street, at 1812 Federal Street. Today The Gibson Tarquini Group's home is at 764 Cuthbert Blvd., Cherry Hill, NJ.

Award winning designs and innovative planning of residential developments led to the early recognition of the talents within our Firm. The scope of the design practice rapidly increased to include the wide range of building types needed to support population growth and geographic mobility. Commissions for schools, hospitals, shopping centers, office buildings, industrial plants and governmental facilities were imaginatively executed with the same success as in the early years. With growth and expansion came change. In 1965 the firm was reorganized as a partnership. Joseph T. Tarquini, Jr., AIA, as a partner, spearheaded the well-planned evolution of the firm, which was restructured again in 1976, as The Tarquini Organization.

Through the 1970's, popular demand for greater “law and order” programs led to the development of numerous Public Safety and Criminal Justice facilities. The economic conditions in the mid-70's also led to a resurgence of Municipal Facilities construction following the enactment of the “Local Public Works” program, under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The firm's expertise in these areas continued to grow as it gained recognition for its creativity and innovation.

In 1996 came the addition of pioneer John W. Gibson, Jr., AIA, and the firm reorganized in 2000 to become The Gibson Tarquini Group. Now under the strong leadership of John W. Gibson, Jr., AIA, the firm continues to provide quality planning and design services. John W. Gibson, Jr., AIA, has purposefully planned for the growth of staff, expertise and capabilities to serve the specialized needs of our public and private clients. His team continues to provide dynamic design, technological and management leadership, which ensures responsive service and innovative solutions today, with growth and stability tomorrow.
